Marsden is excited to announce the acquisition of Spencer Building Maintenance, Inc. Spencer Building Maintenance is a janitorial services contractor operating throughout northern California and headquartered in Sacramento, California.
The acquisition of Spencer will allow Marsden to expand its capacity and capabilities in California. Aaron Spencer founded the company in 1997, offering an extensive range of janitorial services, including specialty services such as floor and carpet care, maintenance and repairs, emergency response, window cleaning, and pressure washing. Spencer has approximately 400+ employees.
“Spencer stood out to me because of their talented team members,” said Tom Kruse, Marsden’s chief development officer. “They bring a lot of expertise and knowledge to the enterprise, as well as a commitment to customer service. They have a great system for creating customized service packages that meet client needs and budgets.”
Spencer Building Maintenance’s former owner and CEO, Aaron Spencer, will be involved in the transition and will remain on staff as the President overseeing Spencer Building Maintenance’s operations.
“It was Marsden’s customer and employee centric philosophies that drove my decision”, said Aaron Spencer. “Succession planning is difficult, there is a lot on the table. In the end, it is what is best for your customers and your employees. Our mutual core values made my decision easier. Guy Mingo came up through the ranks at Marsden, just as I came up through the ranks in the industry. The people who surround him are like the people who surround me, they are the most genuine and committed people I have ever met. Hiring from within has always been an essential tenant for me. Promoting for core competencies and merit is the way to build and sustain a great business. With our integration into Marsden and its family of businesses we look to have greater offerings to our clientele in the very near future. One thing is for certain, my customers and employees are in good hands.”
