Marsden Services is proud to announce that our operating company Tier One Aztec Facility Services has been awarded two significant safety awards by ExxonMobil.
Tier One Aztec was awarded the Diamond Award for an outstanding safety record in 2020. This marks the sixth consecutive year that ExxonMobil has awarded Tier One Aztec a Safety Achievement Award. The base qualifications for ExxonMobil’s contractor safety awards include at least 10k man hours on site, an injury-free year, a buddy manager endorsement, and zero high potential process safety events. As a Diamond Award winner, Aztec also had to meet certain targets in site leadership, additional endorsements, meaningful learnings, document submission, and other metrics. In 2020, Tier One completed 85,271 man-hours and maintained an injury-free record.
“Not only has Tier One embraced safety, clearly the organization is living it,” said Guy Mingo, CEO of Marsden. “My heartfelt congratulations to the Tier One Aztec team for earning yet another prestigious safety award.”
Tier One Aztec was also awarded the inaugural Stellar Award by ExxonMobil in honor of the company’s response to infectious disease pandemics. Throughout 2020, a small team of Tier One Aztec employees worked double shifts to cover all the sites in the Baton Rouge area and even increased their workload to meet the changing needs of a pandemic environment.
“They worked without complaining throughout 2020 and are currently working into 2021 to keep all of us safe as we ride out this pandemic,” said Ron Williams of ExxonMobil. “In addition to their daily tasks, they performed duties that were outside of their normal scope, including delivery of cleaning supplies…They performed double duty and cleaned everything, everywhere,” said Williams.
These additional services included performing emergency services and services outside of normal hours, including emergency cleaning on Christmas Eve, three times on Thanksgiving Day, and cleanings on weekends.
“Thank you, Aztec team, for your commitment and dedication to safety,” said Williams. “I want you to know that we see you, we notice you, and we appreciate all that you have done and are continuing to do to keep all of us safe during this pandemic. Thank you for going above and beyond the call of duty!”
